Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The Old Town Trolley is pleased to announce that one of our own conductors, Mark Patterson, is running for King of Fantasy Fest.  This is is a grueling 8 week process of hosting and attending fundraising events raising money for AIDS Help.  The candidate that collects the most money is crowned King and reigns with the Queen  over the 10 days of Fantasy Fest (October 23- November 1). Mark is running with Mark Blackburn, as the MARKeys,  with great success.  All of the money raised stays here in Key West. There are lots of events and ways you can participate.  Just visit their website at http://www.themarkeysforking.com or look for Mark on Trolley #101.

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

fortjeffersonaerialIt’s September which means the Yankee Freedom II is offering great fares to the Dry Tortugas to the locals of Key West and Monroe County. This time of year things slow down so it’s the bestfortjefferson-1yankee2 time for those of us who live here to get out and re-discover all the great things there are to see and do in the Keys. For only $80 the Yankee Freedom II will take you down to the Dry Tortugas, with breakfast and lunch, provide snorkel gear and give you a tour of the largest masonry structure in the Western Hemisphere, all 16 million bricks of it. The water temperature is fabulous, the Dry Tortugas have some of the best snorkeling in the Keys and it is a just a great way to spend the day.
